Jim McIlrath, Esq.

 Jim has more than 25 years of practice in employee benefits and executive compensation law, most recently with the Orlando-based law firm, GrayRobinson, P.A. where he practiced for more than a decade. Jim has extensive experience in providing counsel to corporations, partnerships and sole proprietorships as well as nonprofit and governmental entities. Jim’s work has included frequent client representation regarding controversy matters with both the IRS and the Department of Labor.  Jim has been a guest lecturer at conferences sponsored by Valencia Community College and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and at the Annual Accounting Conference held at the University of Central Florida.

 Jim is a graduate of Northwestern University Law School.  He was born in Huntington, Indiana and grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He received his bachelor’s degree with honors from Indiana University at Bloomington, Indiana.  Jim served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1969 to 1972 when he received an Honorable Discharge having then attained the rank of Sergeant.

 Jim is a past Chair of the Business Section of the Orange County Bar.  Jim served for 12 years on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools and has now been on the Board of Directors for UCP of Central Florida for several terms.  He is a past President of the Board of Directors of Friends of the Library and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Orlando Regional Partnership for Tomorrow’s Workforce (“O-Force”).  He is also a former volunteer teacher with Junior Achievement.
